The Books of the Cataclysm have sold into Germany, specifically to Otherworld Verlag Krug Keg. I am excited!

The Crooked Letter (translated* by Google as "The Crooked type character") is listed on their site as a 2008 book.

The delays concern The Changeling and The Force Unleashed, both of which have been pushed to early 2008. That sits well with me, as it avoids the logjam that seemed to building around October, with those two books plus "Cenotaxis" due at the same time.

* Google insists on adding the word "jug" every time "Keg" appears, which would be hilarious if it wasn't such a cliche.

Just quickly...

Anyone interested in the symbols used in the Books of the Cataclysm will find a list of explanations here, now updated to include the last three books. (No spoilers, unless you're psychic.)

Also, I've just discovered that three of my earliest stories have been archived on the web, along with the fanzines in which they were first published. The Mentor was good to me, providing a place for new writers to air their work and receive feedback. The stories are were published in issues 75, 76 and 77 and have been archived in PDF form by efanzine.com. The links attached to each title will take you to the relevant issue: "Heartbreak Hotel", "Looking Forward, Looking Back", "Goddess of Stone".
11th-May-2006 10:15 am - Worthy Cause of the Week
Elemental, the Tsunami Relief Anthology, is released any day now. Here is the Barnes & Noble review, which highlights the excerpt from Geodesica: Descent that Shane and I contributed. I am excited to be in an anthology with Sir Arthur C Clarke, Larry Niven, Brian Aldiss and others, but it also feels good in the karma sense. Every little bit helps.

Now, if only someone would do something similar for the disaster area in Kashmir...

Merv Binns reviews Geodesica: Descent in Australian Science Fiction News: "if you appreciate this style of SF you will not find many books more exciting."
